We’ve been doing some database work for the armed services recently, and our main contact there is part of a team of four who will attempt to trek about 250km across the Gobi Desert in July this year.
Money raised as a result will go to two charities specialising in looking after service personnel scarred physically and/or mentally in combat situations - Combat Stress (www.combatstress.org.uk) and Help for Heroes (www.helpforheroes.org.uk). The intrepid foursome will be known as Team Extreme Mapper.
We at Tarragon Consultancy will be sponsoring one of the team in respect of the specialist food, equipment and clothing he must carry with him throughout the 7 day challenge. Yes, they have to carry everything they need for the week on their backs!
If by any chance you, or any of your team, are interested in providing some corporate, team or personal sponsorship (no matter how small) I know they would appreciate the assistance. It looks like Channel 4 Television may (just may at the moment!) accompany “our” team this year and there will also be a website up and running throughout which will show Team Extreme Mapper's progress day-to-day and provide opportunities for corporate exposure.
Please feel free to pass on this information to anyone you think might be interested. Just contact Tarragon if you’d like to get involved in any way.
Either way, we’ll keep you posted here on the Blog about how things go with the expedition, which is bound to test all the individuals to the maximum. GO TEAM MAPPER!!!
